Albert Nocktonick Obituary, Death – Albert L. Nocktonick, 82, a longtime resident of Holton, KS, peacefully passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 6, 2023. Born on January 18, 1941, in Holton, KS, he was the son of Joseph and Louise Catherine (Tork) Nocktonick. His journey in life was marked by achievements and contributions that touched the lives of many.
Albert’s educational journey led him to graduate from Topeka High School in 1959. He went on to pursue higher education and obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Washburn University.
During his career, Albert made significant contributions, and he eventually retired from the Prairie Band Casino, where he worked in the Environmental Services Department. He was not only dedicated to his work but also deeply committed to his Native American heritage as a member of the Citizens Potawatomi Nation of Oklahoma. Additionally, Albert proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
Albert is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Beryl Ann (Martin) Nocktonick. He also leaves behind a daughter, Sarah Nocktonick of California; two step-daughters, Sally Lempp and Lesley LaFile, both of Kearney, NE; and a step-son, Erik Dahl of New Jersey. His memory is further cherished by three brothers, Joseph E. Nocktonick, Richard Nocktonick, and Louie C. Nocktonick, all of Mayetta, KS. Albert’s legacy extends to his four grandchildren, Bailey Stofer, Braden Dahl, Gavin Dahl, and Richard Dahl, as well as his nieces, Margaret and Megan, both of Mayetta, KS, and his nephew Joseph Nocktonick of Mayetta, KS.
In his lifetime, Albert experienced the loss of two sisters and a granddaughter, Jessica Lempp. As per Albert’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a memorial service to honor his life will be held at a later date.
