Anthony Papa Obituary, Death –Anthony J. Papa Jr., who was 70 years old at the time of his death on Sunday, August 27, 2023, has moved on to eternal life and is now at peace. He was born in Albany, New York, and his parents, the late Anthony J. Papa, Sr. and Rose M. Donato Papa, both passed away.
Both of his parents have since died away. The year 1971 was the one in which he graduated from Christian Brothers Academy with his diploma. Anthony spent a substantial portion of his career with Boni Morrell Electrical Contracting and was also an active member of the Electricians Union for a significant amount of time. Before he retired, he worked at Global Foundries in Malta, where he maintained a position for many years.
Tony enjoyed going hunting in his spare time. His family was the most important thing in his life, and he always made sure to attend family gatherings with a grin on his face. He was the much-loved uncle of Kathryn Sherwin, who later married Megan Koppenhoefer, as well as Richard B. Sherwin, who later wed Kristin. In addition, Ava, Layla, and Ella might consider him their great uncle. He was the brother of Margaret Papa Sherwin (Richard), who passed away previously.
On Thursday, August 31, from one to two o’clock in the afternoon, friends and relatives of Tony’s are invited to pay a visit to his family at The Parish of Mater Christi in Albany. The occasion is in honor of Tony’s grandfather, who passed away in May. The start of the funeral Mass for him is scheduled for two o’clock in the afternoon. The Rite of Committal will start as soon as the Mass is over, and it will take place at the Saint Agnes Cemetery in Menands.
