Family members and friends of the late Reverend Dr. Arthur L. Holmes, Sr., including those of his belated wife, the late Mrs. Floretta Bryant Holmes; his children, Ret. Col. Vernon (Celestine) Holmes, Asenath “Chi Chi” (Harold) Pitner, Arthur (Vivian) Holmes, Jr., Clyde (Sylvia) Holmes, Arthuretta (Clyvia) Holmes Martin, Trina Holmes; and his grandchildren His funeral will be place at Ebenezer AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina at one o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, August 11, 2012, and the date is set. There will be a memorial service for him there.

The Ebenezer African Methodist Episcopal Church may be found in Charleston at the address number 44 Nassau Street. Attendance is strongly encouraged for anyone who has previously worked with Grant White in any capacity. The funeral and the subsequent burial will both take place in Sunset Memorial Gardens, which has been selected as the location for both events. This evening, commencing at 6:00 PM and continuing until 8:00 PM, there will be a viewing and visitation at the New Francis Brown UM Church located in North Charleston, South Carolina.
