Both of his parents, Richard Gooch and Joan Gooch (York), as well as his father-in-law, James R. Smith, passed away before he did. He is survived by : his wife Deana Gooch (Smith); his children, Stephanie Dunkel (Matt Beck), Stacy Dunkel (Dustin Goldsberry), Erik Gooch (Lynn), Cody Gooch, Stephen Dunkel (Veronica) and Stanton Dunkel; his grandchildren, Devon Gentry (Aric), Asthon Albert, Inkeria Albert, Tobias Albert, Bridden Dunkel and Brandt Dunkel; his great grandchildren, Abigail, Lilly and Hunter Gentry; and his parents-in-law, Janiece Smith Vowles and David Vowles.
