Brenda Cooke Obituary, Death – On August 24, 2023, Brenda Irene Cooke, who was 82 years old and lived in Kings Mountain, North Carolina, passed away at her home. She was the daughter of the late Paul Webb and Lessie Marie Stone Ledford and was born in the county of Cleveland, North Carolina. Her husband, Bobby Ray Cooke, also passed away before she did.

The textile industry was Brenda’s career until she retired. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church in the past, but she has now transferred her membership to Kings Mountain Baptist. She had a tremendous amount of affection for her church family. Brenda took great pleasure in tending to her garden and adored all kinds of animals, particularly her cats.

She was a passionate collector of anything and everything. She enjoyed going to Cracker Barrel with her friends and family as well as going shopping, which was a favorite past time of hers. Everyone who knew and loved her will always remember her for the loving and lovely person she was. Her memory will live on.

SURVIVORS: Tinna and Roger Helms, the couple’s niece, who live in Kings Mountain, North Carolina David Whetstine, a brother-in-law who lives in Kings Mountain, North Carolina Bob Whetstine and his wife Susan, who live in Charlotte, North Carolina, are my nephews. David Rhames, who lives in Kings Mountain, North Carolina, is a Great Nephew.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Monday, August 28, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Kings Mountain Baptist Church, with Reverend Tim Whitesides officiating. Prior to the ceremony on Monday, August 28, 2023 at 1:50 p.m., there will be a visitation at Kings Mountain Baptist Church from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM. Mountain Rest Cemetery in Kings Mountain, North Carolina, is the location of the interment.
