Celeste Lawson Obituary, Death – Dr. Celeste Lawson currently resides on the Rockhampton campus in her own personal residence. After finishing the requirements for her Bachelor of Science in Journalism degree, Celeste began her career in journalism by serving as a cadet at a local newspaper. She worked her way through the program. After that, she joined the Queensland Police Service and served in that position for a total of 14 years.
During that time, she never left the force. In the year 2000, she got a Master of Professional Communication degree, and in addition to her employment as a police officer, she started giving lectures on subjects including professional communication, journalism, and public relations.
Upon leaving the police service, Celeste took on senior-level positions in a variety of government departments, where she was responsible for the media and communication. The Office of Crime Prevention in Western Australia and the Corruption and Crime Commission are both examples of these kind of government agencies. In the year 2011, Celeste started working as an academic at Central Queensland University on a full-time basis.
In the year 2013, she was awarded her doctorate for her study in the subject of community policing and communication. Some of Celeste’s special areas of interest include policing research, organizational communication and culture research, and organizational culture research. She was awarded a Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Education in 2014 after she satisfactorily completed all of the criteria for the degree.
Celeste is in charge of the coordination of the following classes: “Organizational Communication,” “Public Relations and the Media,” “Public Relations and Advanced Public Relations,” and “Introduction to Public Relations.” In addition to this, she serves as a supervisor for students who are working on the Communication Project, in addition to students who are working toward their PhDs and Masters degrees.
