Christopher Surratt Obituary, Death – The recent recreational vehicle fire in Los Osos has led to the identification of the victim by the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office on Friday. Christopher Wayne Surratt, a 44-year-old resident of Los Osos, tragically lost his life when his RV was engulfed in flames on Monday, as stated in a news release from the Sheriff’s Office. The RV, which was parked at a turnout on Turri Road to the east of South Bay Boulevard, was in a state of full conflagration when the first responders from Cal Fire arrived at the scene, as reported in Cal Fire’s news release on Monday.
Following the fire’s extinguishment, Surratt’s remains were discovered within the RV. According to preliminary autopsy findings, Surratt’s cause of death was attributed to smoke inhalation, as revealed by the Sheriff’s Office. However, the official cause and manner of death are pending the results of toxicology tests, as noted by the coroner. The Sheriff’s Office is presently overseeing the death investigation, while the fire investigation is being conducted by Cal Fire, as indicated in the news release sent on Friday.
