On the morning of Monday, August 28th, 2023, at approximately 12:15 in the AM, the Chicago Police Department responded to a Shot Spotter alert as well as calls of a person shot followed by a car wreck on 95th and Stony.
Daemond was discovered by them sitting in the driver’s seat of a white automobile with a gunshot wound to the head when they arrived. He was taken in an ambulance to the University of Chicago Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. According to the CPD, Daemond and a male passenger pulled into the Shell gas station, where an unidentified offender attempted to rob him. A fight ensued, and the offender fired three rounds as Daemond tried to drive away; he was hit in the head and crashed into a tree as a result.
The passenger did not sustain any injuries. Despite the efforts of Area 2 investigators, the Chicago Police Department has not been able to apprehend any suspects. We had a phone conversation with his mother, and it was clear that she is in a great deal of shock and anguish. She claims that Daemond was a wonderful child who belonged to a very warm and supportive household. He was her one and only child and her closest companion. The family is begging for the law to do its job. If anyone has any information, they should share it and try to assist this family. You’re an idiot if you try to rob someone and then shoot them because they’re running away from you. smh You fools don’t get any points for coolness fr.
