Grace Braeger Obituary, Death –The 28th of August, 2023, in Washington County, Wisconsin On Thursday, August 24, 2023, Grace Lenore Braeger, who was 94 years old, passed away. Grace Braeger was born in West Bend, Wisconsin, on May 17, 1929. Her parents, Ernst and Elizabeth (née Laubenstein) Braeger, both passed away before her birth.
The term “57 Lady” was commonly used to refer to Grace. She had her 1957 Chevrolet Bel-Air for over 60 years before selling it. Grace served as a deaconess in a Lutheran church for a significant portion of her professional life. Currently serving in the role of Parish Deaconess at both St. Paul Lutheran Church in Albany, New York, and St. John’s Lutheran Church in La Grange, Illinois. Her professional life came to an end in St. Louis, Missouri, after she worked as a Fundraising Campaign Officer at Concordia College in Edmonton, Canada.
After she retired in 2001, she relocated to the Cedar Community in West Bend, where she now lives with her sister Alice. Grace was a devout follower of the teachings presented at the Pilgrim Lutheran Church in West Bend. Her sister, Alice Braeger, as well as cousins and several other relatives and acquaintances, are among those who are tasked with carrying on Grace’s legacy. Dorothy Braeger-Helgeson, Grace’s sister, passed away before her, following in the footsteps of both of Grace’s parents. A memorial service for Grace will be place on Friday, September 1, 2023, at 10 a.m. at the Pilgrim Lutheran Church located at 462 Meadowbrook Drive in West Bend.
The event will be officiated by Pastors Joseph Fisher and Christopher Raffa. The burial of Grace will take place in Washington County Memorial Park immediately after the conclusion of the service. The family and friends of Grace would want to express their gratitude to the hospice personnel at Cedar Community Cottages for the excellent care that they provided to Grace.
