Jim Morrow Obituary, Death – Jim Morrow, who was 94 years old and lived in Austin, passed away. Mineral Wells, Texas was the location of his birth on October 27, 1928. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Billie Waggoner Morrow, their four children: John Morrow and wife Denise, Julie Jansen, Joel Morrow, Jane and husband Glenn Beasley; ten grandchildren: Joshua Morrow (Seliece), Luke Morrow (Gracie), Mark Jansen (Melissa), William Morrow (Kari), Will Beasley (Bree), Jake Morrow, Ben Beasley (Jessalyn), Jared Morrow, Anna Kate Beasley (Logan), and John Beasley (May).
His great-grandchildren are Thalia Beasley, Keith Morrow, Sam Morrow, Michael Morrow, Louisa Morrow, and Brooks Beasley. He also has great-great-grandchildren named Michael Morrow and Louisa Morrow. His sister, Carolyn Cooper, and his sister-in-law, Judy Morrow, will carry on his legacy after his passing. His siblings Bill, Erwin, and Dan, as well as his parents, Horace and Grace Morrow, passed away before he did. His sister Sammy also passed away.
Jim attended high school in Graford, Texas, and then went on to receive his degree in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University in 1950. He worked for his father in the grocery business that he owned in Graford, spent two years in the army, and afterwards worked for the Steed Oil Company, Amoco, and Conoco. He was employed by the Texas Railroad Commission, where he finally rose to the position of head of the oil and gas division. In New Mexico, he was the director of The Oil Conservation Division.
