She is reunited in eternal peace with her parents, Jerry and Emma Palminteri, and her brother Joe. Joanne is survived by her loving husband, Frank, and their devoted children, Kathy and Jerry, and Geri and Rich, along with her cherished grandchildren, Jerry and Dominic, Sophia and Shaun.

She also leaves behind her dear sister-in-law, Rosie, and a circle of nieces, nephews, including Joanne and Frank, Maria and Eric, and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Not to be forgotten, her loyal canine companion, Buddy, was a constant source of comfort and joy in her life.

Joanne’s journey began in Brooklyn, New York, where she was born. She later resided with her family in Queens, and it was there that she first crossed paths with her beloved Frank. Together, they embarked on a life journey that led them to Hicksville, New York, where they planted their roots and raised their two daughters.

Joanne’s unwavering dedication to education and the nurturing of young minds shone through her role as the Director of First Step Nursery School in Hicksville, where she held the endearing title of “Miss Jo.” For an impressive 36 years, she touched the lives of countless children and their families, leaving an indelible mark of love, care, and wisdom.

In her personal life, Joanne was a beacon of love and devotion, showering her family and friends with wholehearted affection. Her family was her greatest source of joy, and her bond with her grandchildren was particularly special.
