John Lees left early this morning (Friday, August 25) in order to get away from the complications that emerged as a direct result of a major stroke that he suffered yesterday. As a consequence of the aftereffects of the stroke, he was required to remain hospitalized for a long amount of time.
 

Since quite some time ago, John and Sandy have both been reliable members of the group of people who compose Bush Poetry by contributing their thoughts and ideas whenever they can. John and Sandy are both poets that write in the Bush style. It was customary for the pair to keep their home in Bundaberg welcoming and available to visitors at all times; hence, members of the broader Bush Poetry family were more than encouraged to stop by and see them anytime they happened to be in the neighborhood.
 

In the name of everyone who is a part of North Pine, I would like to express our most sincere condolences to Sandy and her family during this difficult time for all of them. May you find comfort in knowing that you are not alone during this trying period. May it bring you some measure of solace to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers at this time. I have faith that the realization that you are not the only one going through this will provide you some measure of comfort.
