Joseph Calderone Obituary, Death – Joseph (Joey) A. Calderone, aged 54, hailing from Gardiner, left this world peacefully on September 5th, 2023, in the comfort of his home. Born in Kingston, NY, he was the son of Josephine Caruana Calderone and the late Michael Calderone.
Joey’s life was marked by a vibrant spirit and a passion for a multitude of interests. He was a former truck driver and the proud owner of Calderone Construction. His cherished moments included gatherings with friends at the local corner store, engaging in card games, embarking on crabbing and fishing adventures at the Jersey Shore, hunting in the great outdoors, and the exhilaration of riding motorcycles and snowmobiles.
Whether it was his beloved trucks or his array of toys, Joey always aspired for the best of the best. He had an innate desire to tinker with everything, whether old or new, constantly striving to elevate them to meet his exacting standards. Joseph is survived by his mother, Josephine Calderone, residing in Gardiner, as well as his brother, John Calderone, and John’s wife, Kimberly, also of Gardiner.
His memory lives on through his two nieces, Nicole Arteta and her husband, Keith, and Michelle Arteta and her husband, Brett, along with his nephew, John Calderone, and John’s wife, Nicole. Joey’s great nieces and nephews, including Gianna, Mikaela, Juliana, Nicolas, Dominic, Antonio, Kylie, Matthew, Emily, and Mark, will forever cherish the moments they shared with their beloved uncle. His passing also leaves a void in the hearts of many other cherished family members and friends.
In addition to his father, Joseph was preceded in death by three siblings, Michael Calderone, Linda Decker, and Steven Calderone. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and share their fond memories at the Copeland-Hammerl Funeral Home, located at 162 South Putt Corners Rd. in New Paltz, on Friday, September 8th, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
