Julio Lugo Obituary, Death – We regret to notify you of the passing of one of our very own, Julio Lugo, who was Head of Fund Operations at AdvisorShares during the months of July 2021 and August 2023. It is with great sadness that we must inform you of his passing. The sudden demise of Julio Lugo has put all of us in a state of profound disbelief and sorrow. Julio was highly regarded both as a friend and as a colleague by a wide variety of persons who worked in the industry.

In addition to this, he was an early leader in the development of actively managed ETFs and international indexing. He was also a pioneer in the spread of ADRs and international indexing. He was a man of tremendous integrity and made significant contributions to society. He had the ability to brighten up any environment and was always there for his coworkers and friends.

The level of professionalism that Julio maintained was unparalleled, and he was a guy of exceptional integrity who made significant contributions. It hurts to think about life without Julio. The most important thing for us to do right now is to keep Julio’s memory alive and honor the legacy he left behind while also being here for Ann and their two sons.
