Leigh Ann Underwood, Man, woman killed in suspected Godley murder-suicide identified

Leigh Ann Underwood Obituary, Death – Both the man and the woman who were found dead on Sunday in Johnson County in what is being investigated as a possible murder-suicide have been identified. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office stated that deputies were asked to perform a welfare check at approximately 5 p.m. at a residence located in the 6400 block of County Road 1126 near Godley. When the deputies arrived at the residence, they discovered a woman who had passed away and a male who was unconscious.

According to the investigators, the man was breathing when the deputies came, but he passed away just before 6 o’clock when the paramedics arrived. The death of the woman, 66-year-old Leigh Ann Underwood, was ruled to have been caused by what appear to be wounds caused by a shotgun, as stated by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office. The guy, 73 years old and named as Gary Neal Underwood, was found to have a shotgun gunshot to the chest when he was found dead, according to the medical examiner’s office.

The lady’s death was ruled a homicide, while the man’s death was ruled a suicide by the medical examiner’s office. This suggests that the guy may have shot the woman before turning the gun on himself. The investigators did not release any other information about the man and woman or confirm their relationship. The investigation into the fatal gunshot is ongoing at this time.
