Mackenzie Chapman Obituary, Death – On Sunday, August 20, 2023, Mackenzie Lynn Chapman, who was 24 years old and lived in Evansville, Indiana, went to be with the Lord.
Mackenzie Chapman was brought into the world on January 12, 1999 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri by her parents, Mark and Leslie (Ray) Chapman. She was baptized at North Park Baptist Church, where she also attended services regularly throughout her childhood.

Mackenzie received her high school diploma from North High. She participated in all of the EVSC summer musicals as well as chorus and cheerleading throughout her time in school. Mackenzie had a soft spot in her heart for all kinds of creatures, but she was especially devoted to her canine companions. She never came across someone she didn’t like and had a very big heart. All of the people who knew Mackenzie will grieve her passing deeply.

Mackenzie is survived by her brothers, Nick Hughes of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Austin Chapman of Greenwood, Indiana; her grandparents, Sandra Chapman of Sikeston, Missouri, Barney Ray of Oran, Missouri, and Janet and Jimmy Johnson of Indianapolis, Indiana; and her uncles, Darren and Rebecca Chapman of Sikeston, Missouri, and Kenneth and Maythe Ray of St. Louis, Missouri. Carla Ray, Mackenzie’s grandmother, and Derrell Chapman, Mackenzie’s grandfather, both passed away before Mackenzie did.

A memorial service honoring Mackenzie’s life will be conducted on Friday, August 25, 2023 at noon at the Browning Funeral Home located at 738 Diamond Ave. in Evansville, Indiana 47711. Brother Jay Groves will preside over the service. After the funeral, the burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. On Friday, the funeral home will be open for visitation beginning at 10:00 am and continuing up until the time of the service.
