Mary Walters Obituary, Former Monticello Mayor has passed away

Mary Walters Obituary, Death – It is with a heavy heart that I have to break the news to you that we have lost one of the all-time greats this morning. Mary Walters, a former mayor of Monticello and chairwoman of the Republican Party in White County, passed away without incident this morning at White Oak Health Campus. Mary had an unmistakable fondness for the entire county of White and the city of Monticello in particular.

Throughout her career, she had an impact on a great number of people in a variety of ways. Mary was never at a lost for words, and she maintained a strong presence in her leadership role. In spite of people saying things like, “A woman can’t do it,” she was still able to complete what she set out to do!

Visitation and other information will be made public once they have been ironed out.
At this time, I ask that you join me in praying for her family and that they find comfort. My time spent with Mary will be something that I hold in the highest regard and appreciate for the rest of my life.
