Morgan Sissom Obituary, Death – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Morgan Sissom, a beloved member of the Woodbury community. Morgan, 83, passed away on September 2, 2023, at his home, surrounded by loved ones. Morgan was born in Cannon County to Homer and Hessie Duke Sissom. He dedicated his life to spreading love and laughter to all those he encountered. He leaves behind a legacy of joy and cherished memories.

Morgan is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Brenda Walsh Sissom. Together, they raised a beautiful family that includes children Kimberly Achorn (Darren) of Alabama, Rex Sissom, and Becky Sissom of Woodbury. Morgan was a proud grandfather to Cassie Sissom, Amber Achorn, and Brittany Achorn and a doting great-grandfather to Calin and Maelynn. He is also survived by his siblings, Ellis Sissom, Barney (Linda) Sissom, Ed Sissom, and Wanda Dailey.

In addition to his parents, Morgan was preceded in death by his siblings, Donna Taylor, Carl Sissom, and Pharris Sissom. Morgan was a faithful member of Plainview Baptist Church and enjoyed serving his community as a retired railroad engineer. His life was characterized by his love for family, trains, and his church. He had a special gift for spreading happiness and always greeted everyone with a warm smile.

Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, from 2 PM to 4 PM at Woodbury Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 4 PM in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home, officiated by Bro. Jonathan Womack. Morgan will be laid to rest at Riverside Gardens.

Morgan Sissom will forever remain in our hearts as a source of love and laughter. His memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in eternal peace.
