Richard Ruble Obituary, John Brown University Mourns Passing Of Faculty Emeritus

Richard Ruble Obituary, Death – Member of the Faculty Emeritus Dr. Richard Lee Ruble, who was 89 years old at the time of his death on August 16th, passed away at Siloam Springs. Richard enrolled at John Brown University as one of the institution’s first students in 1964 and went on to play a vital role in the establishment of the university’s psychology department.

During his stay at JBU, Richard was a professor of both religion and psychology. During his tenure at the institution, he was also the academic dean from 1992 to 1993, the vice president for academic affairs from 1994 to 1995, and the dean of faculty from 1994 to 1995. In 1999, Dr. Ruble decided to retire from his full-time work early; nonetheless, he continued to be involved in the academic world all the way up until 2005. Richard had a strong faith in God and a strong commitment to teaching people about the importance of love and compassion.

In his role as pastor at the Highland Community Church, he presided over the congregation for the better part of three decades. If he wasn’t preaching, studying, or spending time with his family, you could find him touring the world and learning about the civilizations of Europe and the Middle East through the antiques he collected and the places he visited. He had a particular fascination with certain parts of the world.
