Thomas M. Widmeier Obituary, Long-time resident of Rockledge has passed away

Thomas M. Widmeier Obituary, Death – On Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at the age of 52, Thomas M. Widmeier (Tom), a loving son, a dedicated brother, and a beloved uncle, went away unexpectedly. Tom spent the majority of his life in Rockledge but spent his childhood in Melrose Park. Tom’s father, Joseph F. Widmeier, passed away before him before he was born.

He is survived by his mother, Nancy Widmeier (née Foy), as well as his two sisters, Kathleen Furphy (John) and Joanne Maldonado (Miguel), as well as his four brothers, Joe (Linda), Matt, Bill, and John (Melissa), and his four brothers-in-law. In addition, he leaves behind four nephews, seven nieces, six great nephews, and two great nieces. He was predeceased by his parents.

Tom attended Cheltenham High School and graduated with the class of 1989. Together with Joe, his oldest brother, he worked in the construction trade as a carpenter. Tom was one of the original members of the Sons of the American Legion Post 497 when it was established. In addition to that, he competed in the Quaker City Dart League as a shooter in Division Two.

Tom was an active participant in the Knights of Columbus and belonged to the James A. Flaherty Council No. 3128. Tom was a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia Phillies, and Philadelphia Flyers. Tom was a loyal friend who was always prepared to pitch in and assist when needed. His loved ones, friends, and everyone else who knew and cared about him will grieve his passing terribly.

On the morning of Saturday, September 9, 2023, from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m., family and friends are invited to St. William Church, located at 6200 Rising Sun Avenue in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19111. This will be followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. The burial will be carried out in secret.
