Tim Olson Obituary, Death – On August 26, 2023, Tim Olson, age 59, who had formerly resided in Milan, Minnesota, passed away in Drayton, North Dakota. Donald and Virginia “Jinny” (Marken) Olson welcomed their son Timothy Donald Olson into the world on January 11, 1964 in the city of Minneapolis, Minnesota. He received his high school diploma from Milan High School in Milan, Minnesota, where he received his education. Tim enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1981 and served his country with pride for a total of ten years before being dismissed from the military with honors in 1991.
Tim and Kim Fokken tied the knot in August of 1982, immediately following Tim’s graduation from high school. Trisha Rae was born on February 1, 1983, and Tonya Renae was born on March 25, 1988. Both of their girls were a blessing to them. Tim exemplified the concept of a “working man” to perfection. He always chose to work in environments where he could get dirty and where he could get away with wearing tennis shoes and jeans. Tim formerly held positions as an engineer with Canadian Pacific Railroad, Hatton Co-Op Oil in Hatton, North Dakota, and Wally’s Oil in Shevlin, Minnesota. He began working for Canadian Pacific Railroad in June of 2004, and he was currently still employed there.
Tim and Laurie Rootes were married on February 12, 2000, and on January 25, 2001, they were blessed with a daughter named Jaimee Marie. Prior to their marriage, Tim had been married to Laurie Rootes. Tim put in a lot of effort in both his work and his play. He was skilled at causing others a lot of trouble, yet if someone came to him in need, he would give them the shirt from his back. Tim’s passion was riding his motorcycle to see friends and family all around the country. He spent a lot of time there on vacation and was considering making it his permanent home. Above all else, Tim cherished his relationships with his offspring and grandchildren. They were the source of him immense pleasure. He took pleasure in being able to participate in all of their activities and spending time with them.
Tim met Nicole Brown in the year 2020. The two had recently become engaged and were making plans to spend the rest of their lives together. They enjoyed spending time together, spending time with their children and grandchildren, and going on adventures. His daughters Trish Mikelson (Ryan Avdem) of Thompson, North Dakota; Tonya (Jason) Fairchild of Grand Forks, North Dakota; and Jaimee Rootes-Olson of Bemidji, Minnesota; step-children James Knudson, Natasha Knudson, and JJ Knudson all of Drayton, North Dakota; six grandchildren MaKenna Mikelson, Mason Mikelson, Mak Mikel
His fiancée, Nicole Brown, his father, Donald Olson, his brother, Randy Olson, and his sister-in-law, Cindy Olson, all passed away before him. Jake Mikelson, his son-in-law, his brother, and his sister-in-law all before him.
There will be two memorial services held in Tim’s honor, each on their own unique day. The first one will be on September 23, 2023, and it will take place at Zoo Bar in Drayton, North Dakota. The timing is going to be worked out at a later time. The second one is going to take place at the residence of Jinny Olson in Bemidji, Minnesota, on October 7, 2023. The time has not yet been decided.
