Vance Crotty Obituary, Death – On Monday, August 28, 2023, Vance Timothy Crotty, age 25, went suddenly in an unexpected manner. Vance was the first baby to be born of a natural birth in Columbus in the year 1998. He was born on January 1st. Mike and Maria (Mullins) Crotty, Vance’s doting parents, were there to receive their newborn son as soon as he was born. Vance had recently received his high school diploma, and at the time of his terrible death, he was working at his parents’ firm, Spirit Services, in the capacity of a leadership apprentice.

Vance is survived by his devoted parents, Mike and Maria Crotty; his brothers, Quinn and Grant Crotty; his grandparents, Ronald and Anna Marie Mullins; his grandma, Nina Crotty; and a large number of other relatives and friends. His memory will be cherished by all of them forever. Vance has now joined his grandfather Timothy Crotty in the eternal peace that awaits him in paradise, and he will be sorely missed.

Vance was a young man who led an active lifestyle and was goal-oriented. He developed his athleticism by working with his father Mike, who coached him in both lacrosse and football. He went hiking all the time. Vance was drawn to everything that involved being outdoors and having a connection with the natural world. It was in the awe-inspiring natural beauty of God’s creation that he discovered the stillness and simplicity that allowed his spirit to achieve a restfulness that it could not find anywhere else.

This sheds light on the kind of person Vance was during the very short time he spent with us. He was “tuned in” to the lines that could be read in the gaps that existed in the story of everyday life. He recognized the divine and symbolic essence of everything, which, in its own way, distanced him from the people he loved and who loved him in return.

He possessed remarkable maturity well beyond his years. He had the ability to see beyond the obvious nature of any circumstance and derive wisdom and guidance from it that would be a game-changer for whoever was suffering with it. He had the ability to see beyond the surface of the nature of any circumstance. This was a result of Vance’s tendency to engage in profound self-reflection.

Vance faced a number of challenges, all of which required him to engage in a never-ending conflict. He was well aware of the challenge that lay ahead of him, and despite the menacing potential that the mountain’s height presented, he never for a moment gave up on realizing his full potential. Vance was never without a tenfold light within him, regardless of the challenges he endured.

According to his brother’s observations, in the days before Vance passed away, he was inspiring a message and a conviction of hope, and most significantly, a purpose of loving and being loved. Vance was focused on developing a personal relationship with the Lord while also actively striving to improve the state of the world in which he lived. He was gradually coming to the realization that the biggest of wounds might be healed by the application of faith and compassion.

Even though Vance was unable to understand this healing while in the soft embrace of those who are still left here in sadness and in sorrow, he is now aware of the comfort and peace of heaven, where there is no pain, no disease, and no sorrow. The void that Vance’s absence creates in our lives cannot be remedied, nor can the anguish that it brings be dulled. This is as a result of how exceptional Vance was and how much he was adored by many. Vance was the candle that tried to offer so much light to the world around him, but it burnt too bright and went out in the process. Vance was the lamb who craved for the protection and comfort of The Shepherd so intensely that God called him home from the desert, and now he waits for us to join him there.

Visiting hours for family and friends will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the DeVore Snyder Funeral Home in Sunbury, Ohio. At 11 in the morning on Saturday, September 2, at the St. John Neumann Catholic Church located in Sunbury, Ohio, there will be a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated for the deceased. Following the funeral mass, there will be a procession to the Kokosing Nature Preserve in Gambier, Ohio, in order to conduct a natural green burial there. Anyone and everyone is free to come.
